Anubis or Anpu is the Egyptian God of mummification.
His association with the dead may stem from the Jackals predisposition to wander the tomb areas of the city. Anubis images were placed in Egyptian tombs to serve the dead as a guide through the underworld.
This 12 inch statuette depicts the son of Osiris in full funerary attire and is identical to those found inside the tombs of Ancient Egyptians.
